The Stem Cell Glycobiology Group is working to understand the role of glycosaminoglycans (complex sugars) in stem cell biology and to exploit this knowledge in the design of biomaterials and other therapeutics.
We are based within the Stem Cell Biology Group in the Division of Cancer and Stem Cells at the University of Nottingham where we have first class facilities for glycobiology, stem cell culture and biomaterial fabrication/testing.
Our research is truly interdisciplinary and this is reflected by the diversity of our publications, grants and collaborations. We have particular expertise in the structural and functional analysis of heparan sulphate and in the culture and characterisation of embryonic stem cells.
